For its part, the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, though some doubted. Jesus came to them and said to them: "I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And here I am with you always until the end of the world. (Mt 28, 16-20)
- Jesus has his disciples to continue his work of redemption calling men to salvation.
- It gives very precise and comprehensive mandate: we must call to increase the number of the disciples, we must incorporate the same Christ through baptism and we must pass on his teachings to live the new life of God's children.
- That is the meaning of every community, organization or ministry within the Church ..
As we are experiencing an ever more distant from God and hostile to the Church, more urgent sound like the parting words of Jesus. The permanent ideal of every Christian who longs to be a true disciple is to tell Jesus' decision "tells me."
